How to Avoid Snake bite in the House

The recent incident of an Air force personnel who died through snake bit was unfortunate as well as painful. According to report Lance Corporal Bercy went to the toilet in her resident at Abuja Nigeria but unfortunately she sat in the toilet seat with a snake on it. She got bitten and before any help could come she gave up.

Such incident might not be new especially to people who lives in environments where snakes are common. Houses that are not properly secured or tidy are easily attractive to all kinds of reptiles.

There are ways to deal with the challenges. The first is to engage in proper and regular cleaning of the environment. It's not enough to have a fence (that's if there is one) in your house, the real thing is to ensure that the compound is really hygienic.

Snakes, or any other kind of reptiles enjoy mostly warm or waterlogs environment. Such places like the soakaway, sewerage pipes, gutters, bathroom and toilet are mainly the areas of real target. Once in a while it's proper to carefully survey those places as a way of being sure nothing dangerous is lurking around.

The second aspect is to always use chemical or any fumigating solutions to disinfect the environment. Salt can also be useful especially in the toilet. Some drops of it inside the loop can kill or scare away snake.

The third aspect is to avoid keeping your environment in darkness. Yes, it's good to take off some light in the house sometime. But not in the night. Outside lights needs to be on most of the time. We could be avoiding burglars and thieves, but the little dangers lurking around could be more deadly.
May God help us!
